Academic Olympics

I am very sorry to say that I did not place in the academic olympics. Everyone thought I did good but I am not as sad anymore because I realize what a good experience it was for me. The whole thing was just very cool and there was a lot of talent there!

Best Soccer Game Ever!!!

Yesterday I played the best soccer game ever and it wasn't because I scored a bunch. I only scored once. It was the best because the team we played was very good and they were hard to beat. But we did 3-2. The two goals for them came in the last period in about to minutes and we only had five minutes left but thanks to team work we pulled it together and won! I beat their going to be even better next time we play them. There was so much excitement in the game and it was so fun to play!

Helping

As you guys can see so far this mostly my blog.So I'm not going to say "Faith here" anymore. K? Today I made the mistake of wearing long pants to school so as soon as I got home from school I changed into shorts. How many people do you know that wear shorts in winter in Missouri? After I put shorts on I ate a cupcake and went outside. My friends came out about 15 minutes after me. We live on a small loop on our street and we have a patch of land in the middle of the street. It's not like grass and trees. It's more like rocks and bushes but it's still nice to look at. My friends and I call it "The Circle" and we spent like two hours cleaning the circle. It felt good to help the earth and I think everyone should be able to feel like that.

How to make an art studio in your basement

Both me and my mom want this blog to inspire people so I'm going to tell how I made an art studio in my basement. I always liked art and my mom was always trying to get me to paint and stuff in the basement but of course when I was little I didn't want to go down stairs by myself but now that I older I'm not scared. But anyway all you need is...

Some paper

Pencils

Colored Pencils

Markers/Crayons

Stickers

a large place/room

Imagination

You don't have to go all fancy just have fun with what you do!

P.S. The picture of the owl is something I drew.

A Cammy story

Another post from Faith. As you can so far see my mom doesn't post as much as me.Here is Cammy story for you guys I hope you enjoy it. Another thing we call Cammy is magical. Onetime Cammy walked into my room and started scratching at my closet door. I didn't want to let her into the closet so I said no and shooed her away. She scratched more and meowed so I finally opened the door and let her into the closet. She pocked around a little and then she jumped to the top shelf. Well, that was pushing it to far with that so I tried to get her down but she wouldn't come. I was trying to think of ways to get her out of my closet so I closed my eyes for a second and thought. I was stuck I couldn't think of anything. I opened my eyes and started looking in my closet again. she wasn't there. Now i know what your thinking. She jumped down and ran out your room. But she didn't do that. I only had my eyes closed for like a second. I started panicking and at that second Cammy walked up the steps and into my room.No where close to my closet. Creepy right?

Academic Olympics

Hello, it's Faith. I just wanted to tell you about the Academic Olympics. I am in them for all the fourth graders in the story telling part. The story I am doing is Abiyoyo by Pete Seeger. I am the only one in my grade for story telling. About 11 kids tried out and they picked me and another girl who happened to be my teacher's daughter.(=My teacher's daughter is the understudy. I have been working very hard with a coach at school and with my mom at home. It is this upcoming Saturday. Wish me good luck and I'll tell you how I did Saturday or Sunday.(=

Tabby and Cammy

Basic

Faith here!
I just want to tell you a little bit about me and my family/pets.
I have one brother and one sister. Let's call them brother and sister.
I have a dog and a cat. My dog's name is Ella and she is Beagle. My cat's name is Cammy but I sometimes call her Shadow Cat. Cammy is a stalker too. She loves to bite us. We had two cats but one died. Her name was Tabby and she was very old and sick. My mom, sister, and I loved her so much! Both me and my mom's favorite colors are purple. I love owls and I can't tell you how much I love soccer!!! My dad is my coach. My grandma and grandpa ( who I call Nana and Papa) have a camper and they go camping a lot. I can't really think of anything else to say so leave your questions/comments and I hope you enjoyed my post.

Dinner Guests

Hi, this is Faith and Timmie. I am really excited about having a blog with my mom,
Tonight we had some guests over and my mom made cupcakes and manicotti. It tasted awesome!
The cupcakes where just yellow cake mix and dark chocolate icing. Yum!

Here's the recipe for the manicotti:
Manicotti

1 jar of your favorite red sauce

Alfredo sauce (see recipe below)

1 box manicotti (prepared as directed) I leave them in the cold water so they won't stick, but not too long or they get mushy.

Mozarella, and or parmesan cheese for the top. (4 oz.s maybe)

Manicotti filling (see recipe below)

Hawaiian bread rolls (recipe below)

Preheat oven to 375 F. Spread 1/4 jar of red sauce in bottom of 9X13 pan. Save remaining. Fill plastic resealable bag with filling and cut off corner. Cut if off about 3/4 of an inch or big enough to make a hole somewhat smaller than the inside diameter of the noodles and large enough to let the pieces of sausage come through. Fill the manicotti noodles with the filling, using the bag. I wore gloves because I have a bit of a cold.
Place the filled manicotti in the pan on top of the red sauce. Continue filling and placing in the pan until you are out of filling.
When you have your pan full of yummy manicotti, pour the rest of the red sauce around the edges only of the manicotti, leaving about a 4"X 6" rectangle free in the center. This is where you will put your white sauce. Pour in the white sauce, just in the center and top with something green. I usually use parsley but I didn't have any so I used sweet basil. Yummy.

Bake in oven, covered with foil until hot and bubbly. About 20 minutes. If you want to bake it later, at this point put in refrigerator. If you refrigerate you will have to add extra time for baking when you do bake it. After it is hot an bubbly top with more mozarella, or mozarella and parmesan, whatever you have, and put back in oven uncovered until melted. Serve with salad and hawaiian bread rolls, and of course cupcakes for dessert.

Manicotti Filling

1 15 oz. tub of ricotta cheese
1 8 oz. bag of shredded mozarella
3/4 to 1 lb. of italian sausage
1 egg
salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste.

Break egg into bowl, add ricotta cheese and mix together. Add salt, pepper and garlic to cheese mixture. (Oh, I added a little bit of sweet basil too, just for kicks). Add mozarella, and sausage and mix it up. Put it in a plastic baggie and pipe away into your noodles.

Alfredo sauce

1/4 c. butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1 1/2 cups parmesan cheese

This ain't no diet food. Melt the butter, then add the minced garlic and slightly cook. Don't burn it. Add the heavy cream and simmer for 3-5 min. When good and hot, turn the heat way down or off and add the parmesan cheese. Stir, stir, stir until all melted.

*** There is no reason to ever buy the nasty jarred white sauce. This sauce is so easy and so good. If you don't have heavy cream or just want to make it lighter, you can use milk or even canned milk which I keep on hand at all times just in case I need Alfredo sauce.

Cheesy Hawaiian rolls:

Hawaiian rolls
Cheddar cheese, shredded
margarine
garlic powder

Buy the hawaiian bread rolls that are pre sliced. They come 8 to a package. Take them apart and lay flat on cookie sheet. Top with margarine, garlic powder and cheddar cheese. Place in oven until tops melted and good. Enjoy.
